CONDITIONS OF SERVICE

  1. BOOKINGS

At the time of booking or at check-in, we will take your credit / debit card details and you authorise the use of this card for any sums that become owing to us. By giving us your credit / debit card details, you are entering into a contract and accepting our booking Terms and Conditions. Your credit / debit card will not be charged at the time of your booking you may pay on arrival. For golf and fishing tours accommodation pre-payment may be required, see section 8 for further information.

  1. CANCELLATIONS

Cancellations must be received in writing. Cancellations received less than 48 hours prior to the arrival date will be charged the first night’s stay. A change of date or shortening of a reservation will be deemed a cancellation. No shows will also be treated as a cancellation, the first night of your stay will be charged and subsequent nights may be cancelled. If you have to cancel or amend a booking due to the Covid-19 regulations and you are having to do so within 48 hours of your arrival date, you may be offered alternative dates at the hotel’s discretion and subject to availability. If booking via a third party such as Booking.com, you are subject to the cancellation terms of your contract with them and your cancellation must be approved by them.

  1. CHECK IN AND OUT

Check-in time is 2pm on the day of arrival. For arrivals prior to 2pm, we cannot guarantee room availability, but we will be happy to store your luggage.

Check-out time is by 10am Monday to Friday and by 10.30am on weekends and bank holidays. Late check-out at midday can be purchased for £15, subject to availability. Unauthorised late check outs may incur a late check out fee, at the hotel’s discretion.

  1. BEHAVIOUR

Behaviour of guests and their visitors should not be excessive or rowdy, and must not cause annoyance, distress or embarrassment to staff or fellow guests. Threatening, offensive or illegal behaviour will not be tolerated. We reserve the right and you hereby authorise us to charge your credit / debit card for any discretionary compensation payment or discount we may have to pay other guests as a result of your behaviour. This includes damage to the hotel building, fixtures, fittings, flood damage or the costs of specialist cleaning.

  1. SMOKING POLICY

Guests are not permitted to smoke in rooms or public areas. Rooms left smelling of smoke and therefore unable to be re-let on the same day will incur a £100 cleaning charge at the hotel’s discretion.

  1. PERSONAL BELONGINGS

Your personal belongings, including vehicles parked in our car park, are your own responsibility. While it may be possible for you to store items of value in the hotel safe, we accept no liability whatsoever for any accident, loss or damage to property, unless such loss is demonstrably due to our negligence. We cannot be held responsible for failure of public services (e.g. water, gas, electricity), or any disturbance that is beyond our control. In all cases, except personal injury or death, our liability to you for the total of all claims arising out of your holiday with us is limited to the cost of the booking.

  1. SPECIAL OFFERS

Special offers and promo codes, unless otherwise stated, cannot be used in conjunction with one another and are always subject to availability. They may be changed or withdrawn without notice at any time. If the conditions are not fully met, then the standard tariff will apply.

  1. GOLF & FISHING TOURS

When a golf or fishing tour quote is requested, your accommodation may be held for up to two-weeks from the date of the proposal, after which time availability cannot be guaranteed. Your golf tee-offs will be available at the time of the proposal however they are subject to change as nothing can be reserved until payment is received. To confirm a proposal, we may ask for full payment. To do this, please call us on 01637 874067 on Monday to Friday between 9am-12pm.

Should you need to cancel a booked golf or fishing tour, you are subject to the cancellation policies of each itinerary element. In respect of the golfing elements of the tour this typically is non-refundable unless the golf course must close due to extreme weather conditions. Accommodation, transport and meals can be cancelled and refunded up to 48 hours before check-in. Cancellation within the 48-hour notice period will result in the first night being charged, or a date change may be offered at the hotel’s discretion and subject to availability.

  1. REFUSAL

We reserve the right to refuse any booking, at the hotel’s discretion. Please be advised that we are not able to accommodate stag or hen parties. There may be a minimum number of nights required to book at certain times of the year.

  1. FAILURE TO COMPLY

Failure to comply with any of the booking conditions may result in the booking being cancelled or your being asked to leave immediately. Please be aware that no refunds will be given in these circumstances.

  1. COVID-19

Please do not travel to the hotel if you feel unwell or have been in contact with anyone who has, or is suspected of having, Covid-19. If any member of your party displays symptoms during your stay, then you must all return home immediately. We ask you to familiarise yourself with the latest government guidelines and ensure that you are not in breach of these guidelines while fulfilling your visit to the Griffin; this applies to all regulations including the ‘rule of six’ and local lockdown restrictions. Pressurising members of staff members to bend the rules for you will not be tolerated.
