When a Griffin hotel room booking is placed either directly or via a third party, the person making the booking is entering into a contract and accepting our booking Terms and Conditions. Booking policies and rates may vary, however the hotel reserves the right to request payment in full in advance or on arrival.
Rooms may not be ready until 2pm on arrival. However, guests are welcome to use the hotel facilities and car park if arriving early. Rooms can be pre-booked the night before at an extra charge to guarantee an early arrival.
Check out time is 10am (10.30am on weekends and bank holidays) and late departures will be charged for as follows:-
– Check out after 10am (10.30am on weekends and bank holidays) but before midday: + £30 per room
– Check out after midday and before 10am the following day: + 1 day room rate per room
As we are a licensed venue, we are only able to offer accommodation to guests under the age of 18 who are accompanied by a responsible adult.
We welcome small group bookings of up to four rooms, and our hotel is popular with anglers and golfers. Please note that we are unable to accept stag and hen party group bookings since this can impact on the quality of stay for our other guests. Stag and hen party bookings made in error may be cancelled by the property and any cost liabilities of the cancellation will be the bookers responsibility. Group bookings made by third parties may be subject to unique terms and conditions which are agreed on an ad-hoc basis with each third party.
Behaviour of guests and their visitors should not be excessive or rowdy, and must not cause annoyance, distress or embarrassment to staff or fellow guests. Threatening, offensive or illegal behaviour will not be tolerated. We reserve the right to recover from the person making the booking, or the party, any discretionary compensation payment or discount we may have to give other guests. This includes damage to the hotel building, fixtures, fittings and flood damage.
We reserve the right to recover from the person making the booking, or the party, for any damages caused by the party during their stay. This charge may be taken from the card used to book the room or settled up by the guest at check-out. Typical damages and the charges you agree to as part of your booking may include, but is not limited to:

For cancellations received more than 48 hours prior to arrival, there will be no liability and any payments made towards the booking will be returned to the original payment method. For cancellations received less than 48 hours prior to arrival, the value of the first night of each room will be payable. Holiday insurance is therefore strongly recommended. Cancellations must be received in writing, using the same email address used to make the reservation. Reservations made through third parties are subject to terms and conditions outlined in their confirmation to you; any changes must be made with them, and not direct with the hotel. A change of date or shortening the reservation within 48 hours prior to arrival will be deemed a cancellation.
When a golf or fishing tour quote is requested, your accommodation may be held for up to two-weeks from the date of the proposal, after which time availability cannot be guaranteed. Your golf tee-offs will be available at the time of the proposal however they are subject to change as nothing can be reserved until payment is received. To confirm a proposal, we may ask for full payment. To do this, please call us on 01637 874067 on Monday to Friday between 8am-1pm. Should you need to cancel a booked golf or fishing tour, you are subject to the cancellation policies of each itinerary element. In respect of the golfing elements of the tour this typically is non-refundable unless the golf course must close due to extreme weather conditions. Accommodation, transport and meals can be cancelled and refunded up to 48 hours before check-in. Cancellation within the 48-hour notice period will result in the first night being charged, or a date change may be offered at the hotel’s discretion and subject to availability.
Failure to comply with any of the booking conditions, whilst making the reservation, or anywhere on site, may result in the booking being cancelled or the party being asked to leave immediately if, at our sole discretion, we feel the conditions have been infringed. The account will be due in full, and no refunds will be given in these circumstances.
Improvements, maintenance and changes to the hotel’s facilities and grounds take place throughout the year and we will always do our best to ensure that guests are not inconvenienced. No compensation will be paid if a facility is not available, but we will do our best to provide a suitable alternative. We cannot be held responsible for failure of public services (e.g. water, gas, electricity etc), or any disturbance that is beyond our control. In all cases, except personal injury or death, our liability to you for the total of all claims arising out of your holiday with us is limited to the cost of the booking.
Our hotel rooms are dog-friendly, and house-trained dogs with responsible owners, are charged at £8 per dog, per night. We ask that dogs are kept on a lead when in public areas of the hotel and not left alone in the bedroom for extended periods of time.
Free, limited, on-site parking is available for hotel guests on a first-come first-served basis. Vehicles are parked at the owner’s risk.
Special offers cannot be used in conjunction with one another, are always subject to availability and may be withdrawn without notice at any time. If the conditions are not fully met, then the standard tariff will apply.
Prices are correct at the time of publication but may change without notice, with the exception of confirmed bookings. These will not alter other than to reflect any changes in tax. Online published Terms and Conditions supersede any printed collateral.
We reserve the right to refuse any booking.
