Functions at the Griffin
The Griffin Newquay is a great venue for all occasions! We have flexible options for your event from private dining spaces that seat up to 90 in one room, to our 160 capacity downstairs function room that has a bar, stage, sound system and atmospheric lighting. Whether this is an end of season staff party, birthday celebration, engagement party or any other celebration, allow us to help you make it a memorable day. We also offer private gatherings of family and friends after a funeral to celebrate the life of a loved one, within a discreet and intimate setting where guests can relax. See information on the different rooms available, below.
Our dining rooms can be booked free of charge when our catering is used for your event. We no longer accept self-catered food or drinks bookings. The downstairs bar is free to use with 50+ catered guests, or we can offer a room-hire-only rate of £175 per day, giving you the function space as well as your own staffed bar. We do not recommend this room for fewer than 50 people.
Our catering options range from a delicious Cornish-inspired buffet from £12 per person, to a three-course sit-down meal with price options from £24.95 per person. Sample menus are available on request.

Function ROOMS
FRONT DINING ROOM
Our front dining room is suitable for small private sit-down dining events or buffets for a meeting or wake. Seats 20-30 people. This is a restaurant dining room so it may not be available for private use during peak season dates during food service hours. The room benefits from nice views to the front of our property.
BACK DINING ROOM
Our back dining room is suitable for larger private sit-down dining events or buffets. Events with 10-35 people may either book a partitioned part of this dining room or use our front dining room for a private event. For between 35-75 attendees the back dining room makes an ideal private dining or meeting venue.
DOWNSTAIRS BAR
Our downstairs bar is the perfect space for a celebration with disco or other live entertainment. The room benefits from it’s own bar, stage and dancefloor. Bring your own music or use our resident DJ for just £250 for the evening. This room works best with around 100 guests, we recommend a minimum of 50 and a maximum of 160.
